Re: Racial Justice Sunday – Ecumenical Training Events
‘Go to a land I will show you’
You are invited to a training event on either Tuesday 17th or Thursday 19th July 2007, to help worship leaders and ministers to use the racial justice information packs on Racial Justice Sunday, which this year is on September 9th.
The training events will take place on the evenings of Tuesday 17th July at the Salvation Army Hall, Harrington Street, Preston and Thursday 19th July at Christ Church, Cross Street, Nelson and will run from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
The evenings will be interactive events with groups looking at worship, children’s and young people’s work and at social action and with opportunity to think about new approaches to racial justice. There will be information packs and new ideas about the use of the material.
A full programme will be provided nearer to the dates of the training evenings and we hope you will want to take part. In a year when we have been looking at the 200th anniversary of the abolition of slavery and the realisation that slavery in many forms is still with us, we have the opportunity to work against racial injustice at home and elsewhere.
We look forward to seeing you at one of these events.
