| Welcome to this weeks newsletter. This is our 200th newsletter that we have sent out to members of FaithAction since we started sending out newsletters in 2006. Last week, our FaithAction newsletter focused on how Faith based organisations reach parts of communities that statutory services cannot and issues in local politics. This week, we want to hear your achievements, your pioneering services, and how your organisation is working in your community. Here today… Gone tomorrow…? With the changes in public spending and the increase in unemployment, the voluntary sector is needed more than ever which provides safer, independent support that people need during this time. Faith based organisations are essential for reaching those who are often beyond the reach of statutory provision. FaithAction is aware that there are a number of organisations providing services that are crucial to communities across England. We want to know what you do so we can highlight your work to central and local government as well as interested bodies, demonstrating the important contribution you are making to communities around the country. If you are providing services in any of the following areas, please contact Felicity Smith at FaithAction as soon as possible on the number below: • Domestic Abuse • Friendship services which combat isolation • Employability • Homelessness services • Providing places that people can come to when in need Local politics Last week, we mentioned that some voluntary sector groups have come across problems with local politics. If you have come across issues in either GP surgeries, Local Authorities or other local areas, let us know. Volunteering The Coalition Government has placed a great deal of importance on volunteering in communities. If you are working with volunteers, either professionals from larger private organisations or volunteers from your local community we want to hear from you. Interactive project development for faith based organisations involved in social action
This booklet and the accompanying video highlights, which are available via the FbRN website, take ten case studies, across a range of faiths, to demonstrate the elements of a successful faith based social action project. They also illustrate how the contribution of faith infuses the project and contributes to providing a unique service to the local community.
Funding from the Department for Communities and Local Government enables the Faith Based Regeneration Network UK to make copies of the booklet available to organisations and individuals .

Training to get Voluntary Community and Faith Sector (VCFS) organisations ready for commissioning and procurement and support them to win contracts for Public Service Delivery.
Recent and imminent changes in the public sector are generating, and will continue to generate an increased demand for VCFS organisations' service provision.
